Just a quick post letting you know that having neglected our blog for a bit – we’re now going to keep updating on a more regular basis. We’ve been putting in the practice hours and families have been growing (and will continue to grow come November)

A couple of gig mentions – Many thanks to the good folk of Broadwas in Worcester who were duly entertained by the band. A slightly older crowd who definately enjoyed the older numbers such as Great Balls of Fire and King of The Road. It was also curry night and the band were grateful for their supper! Then over to Chorley, Lichfield where another great crowd caught the band in fine form. Faves of the night included Norwegian Wood and Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.

This Friday sees the band performing at Sutton Tennis Club which will round off a busy September for the boys! If you’re looking for a top covers band to perform for your event, party or wedding – please give us a call!

Open Mic @ The Station, Sutton Coldfield

Last night saw the band taking to the very welcoming stage at The Station, Sutton Coldfield where an open mic night has been running for about a month. It’s very popular and well turned out with a varying array of talent turning up on the night to showcase their skills. First time there for us and we opted to go on first, all the bands got 3 songs. We were asked to stay around and play a few more numbers towards the end of the night and we’re looking forward to playing The Station again soon.

A summer school fayre gig

The band were asked to provide a bit of live music for Adrian’s daughter’s school fayre. Ever happy to oblige, the band provided the soundtrack to an enjoyable evening of junior gladiators, dance routines and a bevvy of tombola style fun and frolicks.

Waterfront review 14/7/08

Saturday 14th June saw us playing to a great crowd at the Waterfront, near Burton. We started with a few lively numbers such as “Great Balls of Fire” and “Rehab” as the Waterfront crowd were pretty lively themselves! Our first set even saw a few plucky souls venture up to the makeshift dancefloor where Adrian encourages everyone to gravitate to for the best enjoyment possible. The first airing of Arctic Monkey’s ” I bet you look good on the dancefloor” recieved a mixed reception but is probably one for the younger members of the audience. We like to mix and match for all age ranges!

As the night gained momentum, we opened up the set list for the audience, as ever, crowd participation is at the heart of Rule of Three gigs and we managed a few requests such as “500 miles” and “Amorillo” which has the crowd participation-o-meter nudging 11.

We’d like to thank the Waterfront again for having us and also everyone who turned up to make it an enjoyable night. The chap (who’s name we didn’t get) who was moored up for the night who bought the band a round of drinks and all those who got up for a boogie.

Rule of Three Live! this Saturday 14th June

Just another quick plug for the gig this Saturday at The Waterfront Pub, Barton Marina, Burton upon Trent.

There’s a great little write up of the band on the barton Marina website which reads like this…

“Adrian Harvey fronts this very talented band. They play a huge selection of covers form Coldplay to Sinatra. Adrian’s not only talented but a bit whacky as well. He is cheeky and lights up the lounge when he is in residence. He interacts with the audience to assure them of an evening of fun and great music. This is another in a great line up of bands that make the phrase ‘ party in the pub synonymous with the Waterfront.”

So if that’s not reason enough to come along for the possible night of your lives, then I don’t know what is!

Rule of three recruit bass player!

Since original guitarist, Phil, no longer gigged with Adrian and Roy, the two plucky souls ventured on as a duo for a number of gigs during the Spring of ’08. They have now recruited a bass player, Stu, to once again become “The Rule of Three” and are gearing up for a number of gigs throughout the Summer months. Keep a check on the gig page for the latest info. Stu has been practising with the band for a couple of weeks and will debut at the Waterfront gig on Saturday 14th June.
